La Zenia is located between the Orihuela Costa areas of Playa Flamenca and Cabo Roig. La Zenia is a beautiful and popular beach resort which is becoming an increasingly desirable holiday destination. Joining La Zenia to Cabo Roig (via the marina) is the picturesque cliff walk, a popular route for an evening stroll, offering visitors the chance to enjoy fine views of La Manga and the Mediterranean Sea. Sitting right beside the main beach of La Zenia, is the four star La Zenia Hotel, a popular choice for accommodation in the resort.
A Chiringuito (beach bar) occupies the beach for 9 months of the year offering and extensive daily menu as well as regular entertainment. During the holiday season there are also many water and sport activities for holidaymakers to enjoy.
Overlooking the beach is La Mirada, a Spanish restaurant that has recently been refurbished and which has improved the outside seating. The food is average Spanish fayre but the best part about this restaurant is the view. It is a great place to enjoy a glass of wine and snack on tapas, lunch or evening meal. Staff serve you with a smile and always make you feel welcome.
One of the main attractions to La Zenia is Zenia Boulevard, a kilometre inland and the largest shopping mall in the province of Alicante. As well as an abundance of high street names the centre has activities almost every weekend, drawing many people from Orihuela Costa, Torrevieja , Benidorm and even further afield.
Most of the shops are located on the ground floor while the second level is full of with restaurants. The Shopping centre is wheel chair friendly. There are 3 lifts, two in the central plaza and one near the Alcampo as well as a number of escalators.
The other main facilities of La Zenia are centred beside the roundabout on the N332 coastal road. There you will find numerous bars, shops and restaurants, including the popular Paddy's Point Irish pub, claimed to be the oldest Irish pub in the area.
There is a further commercial centre just off Ctra de Villamartin, beside the AP-7 motorway exit, where you will find some large stores, including Lidl and Mercadona.
On Saturdays you could pop along to Playa Flamenca market, one of the finest street markets in the region, where you can pick up good value fruit and vegetables, plus a fine selection of items to take home as gifts.
In the evening try out the local bars, or even head along to the Zenia Boulevard, Playa Flamenca Commercial Centre or the nearby Roig strip, where you will find an even bigger selection of bars, restaurants and entertainment. For something a little different pop along to the Go-Karts at Punta Prima (where you will also find paintballing), or even into the town of Torrevieja, just 10 minutes away, where there is a fine shopping centre, cinema, bowling alley and much more.
A great location for golfing enthusiast, the resort is ideally situated close to the four courses of the Orihuela Costa, the best known of these being Villamartin (which once held the Mediterranean Open). Villamartin golf course is around 5 minutes’ drive from La Zenia, while the other 3 courses Club de Golf Campoamor, Las Colinas and Las Ramblas, are a similar distance. Other nearby golf courses include Vistabella between San Miguel de Salinas and Orihuela, Lo Romero, between Pinar de Campoverde and Pilar de la Horadada, La Marquesa at Rojales and a choice of courses along the Mar Menor (Roda Golf, La Serena and the Mar Menor Golf Resort).
La Zenia is situated on both sides of the N332 coastal road and has its own exit (763) from the AP-7 motorway, La Zenia is easy to reach from both Murcia International (Corvera) and Alicante airports being about 35 minutes from Murcia airport by car and 45 minutes driving distance from Alicante airport (El Altet).
